The vulva and vagina are a complex, self-regulating ecosystem. It has its own pH (around 3.8-4.5), its own microbiome of protective bacteria, and highly absorbent tissue that absorbs everything you put in it.
Ingredients like glycerin (hello, yeast infections) and harsh preservatives can throw your delicate balance completely off.
pH-balanced is pHucked. When it comes to pH, products that are 'pH-balanced' still might cause damage to the vaginal cells. What really matters is whether the formula and ingredients are safe for the delicate and highly absorbent vaginal tissue - as well as being pH-balanced.
